The Kaduna State Peace and Mediation Working Committee was recently inaugurated by Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nigeria to promote a violence-free election in 2023. The committee has called on international partners and local civil society organizations to work together toward mitigating electoral violence through intensive campaigns for tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

For nearly forty years, Nigeria’s Kaduna State has been involved in many ethnoreligious crises that have divided the community. The country has faced many casualties and the destruction of property worth millions of Naira.

GPF Nigeria has worked tirelessly to promote peacebuilding among tribal leaders, respected heads of faith communities, and influential youth representatives. With the formation of the Kaduna State Peace and Mediation Working Committee, Nigerians are rallying to ensure peaceful elections.
