Former Presidents from Latin America are banding together to help establish the Latin American Presidential Library and Center in South Florida. Although some proposed Mexico, Brazil, and Chile to be home to the library, it was agreed that the U.S. location was a “doorway to Latin America” and appropriate as the United States has a tradition of Presidential Libraries not yet reflected in Latin America.

These former Latin American Presidents are members of the Global Peace Foundation Latin America Presidential Mission, an association of former heads of state committed to greater regional integration, effective and transparent governance, and sustainable and equitable development.

The library will feature the work of democratically elected presidents from Latin America as a cultural and educational center. One of the goals for the library will be to host conferences on Latin American topics, involving former presidents from those countries in the discussion.
