Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nigeria organized a training program for twenty-five youth leaders from Rivers State of the South-South region in Nigeria to participate in the Youth Voices Against Electoral Violence campaign. The program is designed to first train young leaders in the community in peacebuilding and peaceful election processes who will then carry out sensitization training for other youth and provide platforms where they can add their voices against electoral violence.
The Program Manager for GPF Nigeria, Mr. Abdul Ahmed, emphasized the need to strengthen young people’s peacebuilding capacity and continue to create synergy and networking among youth organizations across the country with a focus on fostering peace, unity and security of lives and properties.
