United Nations ESCAP reports “South Asia Subregional Forum on Youth Volunteerism to Promote Participation, Development and Peace”

The forum, “South Asia Subregional Forum on Youth Volunteerism to Promote Participation, Development and Peace,” held on April 23-24 in Lalitpur, Nepal, gathered over 200 youth participants from 13 countries, to discuss three issues: environmental service, disaster management, and peace and harmony. During the program, participants broke into groups to create concept notes on topics such as youth engagement, policy, social entrepreneurship, partnership and collaboration, and media and awareness. The concept notes will be used to develop project implementation plans at a community level. 

The program coordinators include: UNESCAP, Ministry of Youth and Sports Nepal, Global Peace Foundation and Global Young Leaders Academy and support by the Asia-Pacific Peace and Development Service Alliance.
