During the one-year anniversary of the crippling earthquake that hit Nepal last April, UN-Habitat hosted two workshops on equity and youth development in the country’s capital, Kathmandu. For the first session, some 50 youth discussed the role young people can play in earthquake recovery efforts. The second session continued with this theme and was hosted by the Asia-Pacific Peace and Development Service Alliance (APPDSA), a collaborative initiative between the Global Peace Foundation and UN ESCAP.
One hundred people joined the third discussion-based workshop which focused on the UN-Habitat Global State of Urban Youth Report. Mr. Padma Joshi, UN-Habitat Country Programme Manager and Mr. Brabm Kumar K.C., President of Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON),  offered remarks.
