Rev. Hayab speaks during GPF Nigeria’s World Interfaith Harmony Week event.
Country Director for Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nigeria, Rev. John Hayab, told news outlets that good governance and mutual respect are critical elements for peaceful coexistence in society during an event commemorating World Interfaith Harmony Week. Celebrated during the first week of February, the United Nations holiday encourages people from all faith backgrounds to come together in mutual respect to foster peace.
The theme of the program was “Celebrating Religious Diversity, Promoting Dialogue and Respect Among Faith.”
“As faith leaders, we will make friends from other religions in the gathering,” said Rev. Hayab. “Not only that, but we will build a relationship that will extend to our families… In doing so, our followers will learn and see examples of tolerance, harmony, respect, and togetherness.”
