Global Caring Month is operated by a worldwide network of thousands of Ford employees and retirees, collectively known as the Ford Volunteer Corps. This effort is managed by the Ford Motor Company Fund, which acts as the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company. It aims at strengthening communities and helping make people’s lives better around the world.
The 2023 Global Caring Month marks the eighteenth year of this commitment, under which the Ford Motor Company Fund will present a total grant of US$20,000 (approximately equal to RM 94,000) to two non-profit organizations in Malaysia viz. Global Peace Foundation Malaysia and Peninsula Malaysia Orang Asli Foundation.
Global Peace Foundation Malaysia is a non-religious, non-partisan, and non-profit organization that will use the US$10,000 grant to help refurbish houses and boost the food supply for 17 families in Orang Asli. It will also facilitate cooking sessions for communities to aid them in their food preparation.
The organization has been working for underserved communities in both Peninsular and East Malaysia over the last 10 years. It addresses the real needs of communities, ranging from basic needs to access to education, livelihood, and economic empowerment.
