Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Kenya is a main organizer for the Great Places to School program, which has been helping parents and students find the best fit for holistic education. Great Places to School (GPTS) is a research-based rating system that identifies both primary and high schools whose innovative learning environment and overall school culture contribute to the development of the holistic child. GPTS is equivalent to an annual report card that provides accurate, objective, and understandable information about the performance of individual schools that is not easily available anywhere else.

The GPTS project assists parents in choosing a school for their children through comprehensive reports comparing local schools and their unique features that contribute to nurturing a holistic student.

For more than a decade, GPF has been engaging educators and stakeholders to integrate moral and innovative leadership and skills that meet the demands of the twenty-first century. GPF believes that quality education is a powerful tool to create peaceful societies. Empowering teachers, administrators, and students with the knowledge, tools, and values that allow them to live in diverse communities is a building block of peaceful societies.

The 3rd Great Places to School Awards Gala was hosted on January 27, 2023, under the theme “Transforming Education for The Future.” Award winners in eleven categories were recognized at the forum. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu was in attendance to present the representatives with their awards.
