GPF Philippines leads relief efforts for victims of flood in Buhi, Camarines Sur

In the wake of devastating landslides and floods that ravaged Buhi, Camarines Sur, hundreds of families face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. Triggered by relentless rains, the disaster caused widespread destruction, leaving communities displaced and cut off from essential resources.

Amid this adversity, the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines, in collaboration with Global Peace Women (GPW) Philippines, stepped forward to deliver much-needed aid to affected families on November 30, 2024. The team provided food packs and hygiene essentials to 500 households. The relief packages included rice, canned goods, fresh milk, vitamins, and dental kits, offering sustenance and health support to those in need.

The initiative was powered by a coalition of partners, including the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Jolly Pure Goodness, Innerwheel Club of Central Ortigas, the National Council of Women of the Philippines, Scheelle Laboratories Philippines Inc., All Nations Women’s Group, YWCA-FFPI, and Bless Microfinance Corp. Their combined efforts highlighted the strength of solidarity and compassion during crises.

Residents of Brgy. Ibayugan expressed heartfelt gratitude for the material support and the message of hope and unity conveyed by the initiative. Volunteers and leaders encouraged resilience and a renewed community spirit, emphasizing that rebuilding is a collective journey. Adding a touch of warmth, Coffae Corp served freshly brewed coffee, fostering moments of comfort and connection amid the challenges.

GPW has been at the forefront of initiatives that strengthen families as the cornerstone of thriving communities. Recognizing the family as the fundamental unit of society, GPW promotes values-based education and fosters environments where families can build resilience and unity. Through workshops, campaigns, and resources, the organization empowers parents and caregivers to instill virtues such as respect, compassion, and responsibility in their homes, laying a strong foundation for individual and communal well-being.
