The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on businesses and public sectors, particularly education, which has had to adapt to remote and hybrid learning.
For World Teacher’s Day, Global Peace Foundation Philippines broadcast the latest session of the Global Peace Education Webinar series “Transforming Education for the Future” and “Realizing Future-Ready Education,” presented in August during the 2021 Global Peace Convention. The webinar brought panelists from different sectors together to discuss challenges in education and ways to help students gain the skills necessary to prepare for the twenty-first century workforce and contribute to society in the future.
Panelists addressed the qualifications teachers need to provide quality education, the need for education to continue to adapt to emerging technology, and the importance of the engagement and support of communities. Panelists included Toni Umali from the Philippines Department of Education; Brajesh Panth, Chief of the Education Sector Group the Asian Development Bank; Dr. Sharon Chao, Manager of Learning Management Office of SEAMEO INNOTECH; and moderator Dr. Tony Devine, Global Peace Foundation Vice President for Education.
