Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Cambodia joined the Cambodia Climate Change Summit on September 29-30, 2021 to raise awareness about the social and environmental impact of climate change.
The U.S. Embassy and Cambodian Ministry of Environment hosted the Summit, with distinguished speakers and youth ambassadors exploring possible approaches to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
GPF Cambodia representatives also participated in a Waste Management Summit on September 2-4, sponsored by the German-based Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The conference presented studies and projects initiated by NGOs, institutions, and individuals to support eco-friendly and sustainable models of waste management, and encouraged networking for project collaborations.
Another ongoing environmental campaign sponsored by GPF Cambodia is the Safe Water Bottle project. The project aims to reduce plastic bottle use and provide primary school students with safe drinking water with reusable water bottles.
“This project is quite important as it contributes to the well-being of our planet and helps children in public schools by teaching them about the environment. Please remember–better environment means better tomorrow.”
–Sornya, a GreenEd Global Peace Volunteer
