In a world increasingly yearning for peace, sustainability, and cross-cultural understanding, the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Brazil continues to shine as a source of grassroots innovation, global collaboration, and bold thought leadership. Its expanding portfolio of initiatives reflects a strong commitment to bridging continents through education, youth empowerment, and timely socio-political commentary. Throughout May 2025, GPF Brazil brought to life a diverse range of programs that vividly illustrate its vision of global solidarity and transformative action. From digital classrooms connecting youth across hemispheres to youth-led policy advocacy and campaigns for peace and environmental justice, these efforts form a vibrant mosaic of international cooperation shaping a more unified future.

A key highlight was the African Renaissance Conference held at the Federal University of Goiás /IESA. This landmark event offered a powerful platform to reflect on Africa’s historical legacy and contemporary socio-economic challenges. The dialogue addressed themes such as colonialism, resource conflict, and inequalities while calling for renewed cultural and educational collaboration between Brazil and African nations. GPF Brazil also showcased its peacebuilding work in Isiolo, Kenya, and presented successful entrepreneurship collaborations in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Kenya.

Building on this vision of unity, GPF Brazil’s educational and cultural exchange program with Zanzibar entered its second month. The initiative connects classrooms in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and Brazil, promoting intercultural understanding among students and fostering deeper global citizenship. With plans to expand the program into Costa Rica, the digital bridge is fast becoming a cornerstone of the Foundation’s approach to global education.

On the home front, the “Renovation for Education” project concluded its first phase of capacity-building seminars for teachers. GPF Brazil’s Youth Department also took significant strides in shaping national discourse, as it began preparations for a nationwide survey to identify the most pressing issues affecting Brazilian youth. With support from GPF leadership, a team is currently developing a policy framework informed by the survey results, an ambitious step toward youth-led transformation and systemic change.

On the international stage, the One Korea Global Campaign gained momentum, fueled by passionate volunteers and endorsements from popular South Korean figures such as Cha Eun-woo, an actor and singer. The campaign seeks to collect 10 million signatures worldwide in support of Korean reunification. Outreach efforts have targeted large K-pop events in cities like Goiânia and São Paulo, engaging young people in a powerful call for peace.

Environmental advocacy also featured prominently this month. In his thought-provoking opinion piece, “The Big Global Business of the Green,” GPF Brazil CEO Mr. Massimo Trombin critiqued the growing commercialization of climate initiatives. He raised important questions about the sustainability of wind turbines and the transparency of carbon credit markets. Trombin argued that the global climate agenda must resist being co-opted by financial interests and instead prioritize genuine environmental stewardship that does not compromise socio-economic progress.

From Goiânia to Zanzibar, and from São Paulo to Seoul, GPF Brazil continues to exemplify the strength of community-driven efforts that operate with global vision. As GPF Brazil deepens its partnerships across continents, it affirms that peace, progress, and unity are not only possible but they are being built, day by day, through collaboration, vision, and bold leadership.
