Facets of Faith is an interactive program initiated by Global Peace Foundation (GPF) India interns to provide an opportunity to share and broaden the perspectives of youth on religion and the importance of interfaith collaboration in peacebuilding efforts in their community and around the world.
Twenty young people participated in ice breakers and small group discussions to learn about each other’s diverse religious and cultural background before embarking on an interfaith tour to places of worship, from temples and churches to synagogues and gurudwaras, throughout the month of June near and around New Delhi. They had the opportunity to learn directly from respected faith leaders at each venue about not only their specific traditions, but more inspiringly, spiritual principles and values that connected all people no matter what their faith background.
Over and over participants stated how surprised they were to learn something new about other faiths and challenge the concepts they once had about people who practice different traditions.
