On May 15th, International Day of Families, Global Peace Women launched “Family Stories Series” campaign with the theme of 2019: “My Family’s Favorite Memories.”
The Peace Begins in the Home (PBIH) international movement that promotes strengthening happy and healthy families around the world, launched the “Family Stories Series” as an annual campaign with the aim to invite families to become peacebuilders within their homes and communities.
The Family’s Favorite Memories is a story and photo campaign that invites families to write about their cherished moments spent together with family members, followed with a picture with that moment.
Over 100 families shared their unique and universally relatable happy family moments from 11 different countries, including Tanzania, Nigeria, Japan, South Korea, Paraguay, Brazil, USA, Nepal, and more.
When we share those special moments with others, we are reminded that peace begins in the home one moment and one memory at a time. Through the annual Family Stories Series campaign, GPW aims to create a ripple effect that invites families to actively find these loving moments and share their appreciation to family members as a way to create peace in their homes. Even though these stories come from diverse cultural, national, religious backgrounds, all these stories encompass the universality of the loving environment created within a peaceful family culture.
Please join the International Movement’s new theme for #familystories2020: Appreciating my parents.
