“I am proud to be a part of Global Peace Youth because I get the opportunity to serve my community while practicing my leadership skills.” —Xuan-Nhi
Xuan-Nhi, a student at the University of Washington, is a long-time member of Global Peace Youth, the youth division of Global Peace Foundation (GPF). The GPY campus club recently partnered with the Global Volunteers Club of Edmonds Community College to put on a bake sale in March. Students raised $500, helping provide free restrooms, laundry services and showers to homeless families and individuals in Seattle.
Now in her final year on campus, Xuan-Nhi reflected on her experience:
“I am proud to be a part of Global Peace Youth because I get the opportunity to serve my community while practicing my leadership skills. Over the past few years, I have felt that I have grown personally as a leader, and I owe this growth to the wonderful people of GPY and GPF that helped pushed me out of my comfort zone so that I can practice moral and innovative leadership.”
Besides organizing service and leadership projects, GPY at UW has also worked with the women’s division of GPF to organize the screening of the film JUN AI at multiple locations in Washington state.
