Africa’s youth hold the power to shape the continent’s future. Speaking at the Ubuntu Africa Youth Assembly, themed “Ethical Leadership and Empowering Youth” and organized by the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), former Nigerian presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi called on young Africans to rise and demand good governance founded on integrity and compassion. He reminded participants that Africa’s greatest wealth lies not in its minerals but in its 400 million young people, who must drive a new African Renaissance: a movement to revive the continent’s moral, social, and economic strength through ethical leadership and collective responsibility. Drawing on the Ubuntu philosophy, meaning “I am because you are,” Mr. Obi emphasized that Africa’s progress depends on unity, shared humanity, and empowering youth to become leaders of change.
