Executive Director of the Africa Society

Ms. Vivienne Sequeira serves as Multicultural Commissioner for Prince George’s County and a member of the United Africa Advisory Board, and is Executive Director of the Africa Society, a nonprofit promoting African literature, history, and culture through programs such as the Ambassador Andrew Young Lecture Series and the Library of Congress African Poets and Writers Series. A subject matter expert on sub-Saharan Africa infrastructure, security, and business, she has extensive experience supporting U.S. companies entering African markets by connecting them with key stakeholders. She has held leadership and consulting roles with The Bluestone Group LLC, GardaWorld, Computer Frontiers, and the Corporate Council on Africa. Multilingual in English and French, with working knowledge of several African languages, she holds advanced degrees from Princeton University and Auburn University, and a bachelor’s degree from Rollins College.
