H.E. Luis Ángel González Macchi is former President of the Republic of Paraguay from 1999 to 2003. Graduating with a degree in law, he became the head of the National Professional Service, then President of the Colorado Bar Council of Paraguay. He previously served as a Senator and President of Congress during the administration of Raúl Cubas Grau. During his presidential term, Macchi worked to form a coalition government to encourage cooperation within Paraguay and repair the economy that was damaged by political crisis.
