Researcher at the National Security Council of Mongolia

Dr. Mashbat Otgonbayar serves as an Expert Adviser to the National Security Council of Mongolia. He launched his career as Assistant to the Chair at Mongolia’s State Great Hural, specializing in national security and foreign policy from 1996 to 1998. Following this, he held the position of Assistant Professor at the School of International Studies and later served as a Researcher at the Institute for Strategic Studies. He earned an LLM from the Law School of the National University of Mongolia in 1998, an MA in National Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California in 2007. He holds L.Legum Doctor from Shihihutug University and participated in ratification of 2019 amendments to the Constitution of Mongolia as an Expert Adviser. In recognition of his outstanding service, he has been honored with the Order of the Polar Star of Mongolia and the Medal of Friendship of North Korea.
