School Supplies and Solar Lanterns Transform Rural Communities in the Philippines

In June 2022, volunteers delivered supplies to 146 students at Moraza Elementary School, which is located in the western part of Luzon Island, Philippines. The school is located at the western foot of Mt. Pinatubo, which was damaged by the great eruption in 1991. There is no electricity and the radio waves of mobile phones do not reach the area.

Chairman Hideo Kawabata of Kansha Co., Ltd. and Aya Goto, Chairman of GPF Japan joined the volunteers as they traveled to donation sites and were welcomed with dances by local children.

Donations of school supplies, solar lanterns, and agricultural machinery were made possible by Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines with the partnership of Kansha Co., Ltd.,  the Luzon Central Region of the Ministry of Education of the Philippines, the Provincial Government of Zambales, and the Local Government Unit of Botolan, Zambales.
