Global Peace Foundation (GPF) canceled opening ceremonies for the Global Peace Leadership Conference (GPLC) Africa 2024 following the heartbreaking loss of lives in Kenya’s capitol of Nairobi. Religious leaders and GPLC delegates instead held a prayer vigil at the Radisson Blu Hotel on June 26 in support of the Kenyan people during this difficult time. Representatives from around the world called on the delegation to pray for the nation, for healing, and for a peaceful resolution so that the nation can find a way forward toward a future that benefits all its people.
Concurrent sessions continued later on June 26, observing a moment of silence at the beginning of each session for all who lost their lives during the demonstrations.
We send our prayers to the local Kenyan community.
