In December 2025, Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Mongolia implemented the Northeast Asian Think Tank Competition in Ulaanbaatar, aimed at increasing youth engagement and public understanding of peace and security issues in Northeast Asia, with a particular focus on the Korean Peninsula.
The program prioritized timely information-sharing and practical participation. Over the year, GPF Mongolia organized more than ten discussion forums and talks, delivered presentations during Peace Award events, and held regular coordination meetings with students and volunteers. These activities strengthened informed dialogue and built a small but active network of young people interested in regional cooperation.

A central focus of the initiative was planning the Y4RP project, which is being developed in collaboration with Mongolian universities. The project is designed to establish a structured speech and policy-oriented competition that will enable students to research, present, and debate issues related to peacebuilding in Northeast Asia.
GPF Mongolia also engaged in cross-cultural and diplomatic cooperation by participating in and co-organizing events with the Embassies of the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Mongolia. These engagements reinforced people-to-people exchange as a practical tool for trust-building.
Community-based activities complemented the policy and dialogue work. GPF Mongolia organized the Darkhan-Uul Province New Year event, convened volunteers and partners to review 2025 activities, and continued efforts to expand its network of cooperating organizations and donors. The organization maintained consistent public outreach through its social media platforms.
The program integrated the Global Peace Foundation’s core approach: interfaith leadership, strengthening families, and a culture of service, by emphasizing collaboration, youth leadership development, and community engagement. The initiative directly involved GPF staff, volunteer students, researchers, and supporting organizations. Participants reported stronger relationships, increased unity within communities, and greater confidence in collective action. Testimonies from students, community members, and partners highlighted improved social cohesion, pride in local development projects, and a renewed sense of responsibility toward the common good.
Looking ahead, GPF Mongolia plans to expand its youth network, formalize partnerships for the Think Tank initiative, and continue regular seminars on Northeast Asian peace. These efforts are intended to sustain informed youth participation and strengthen Mongolia’s role in regional peace dialogue.
