GPF Brazil’s Pills of Peace program brings together students to discuss important questions about peacebuilding.

Through its many and varied values-based peacebuilding activities, the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Brazil promotes interfaith leadership, empowers families and youth, and builds a culture of service that is based on a foundation of our shared humanity. Several initiatives focusing on empowering youth as peacebuilders and our future moral and innovative leaders were held in June.

Elementary school children from an exchange program in Tanzania were presented with a “Pills of Peace” program focusing on “What is your future?” Through a circle of seven lectures, students learned about the importance of volunteerism, leadership, and conflict resolution. The students were exposed to a worldview of engagement in action to implement a culture of peace throughout the program.

Leaders participate in “Conversations that Connect” to foster peacebuilding in Brazil.

Learning how to communicate effectively at an early age is a valuable skill that will last a lifetime. The “Conversations that Connect” program, started by Global Peace Women Project Leader of Brazil Beatrice Munhoz, creates conversation circles among children to promote active listening and a positive manner of interaction. It aims to create a culture of nonviolent communication in education, reduce bullying, improve the work environment for school employees, and enhance the relationship between schools and parents.

A “Conversations that Connect” program for faculty and staff finished its successful first semester of 2025 in June. The program, implemented in collaboration with the Guapo City Education Secretary, is anticipated to begin a second cycle next semester.

Brazil volunteers gather support for the One Korea Global Campaign.

Have you ever thought an undertaking was so overwhelming and possibly unattainable, but you still dared to set aside your doubt, dream big, join others, and do it regardless of the size or number of obstacles? GPF Brazil’s young One Korea volunteers did just that. Over a weekend in mid-June, they collected signatures during several Korean culture and music events in Anapolis-GO in support of the unification of the Korean peninsula.

In her opinion article “Advocating for Korean Peninsula Unification: A Journey from Brazil,” Ana C. Vaz Ferreira, a young One Korea Brazil volunteer, noted, “To take up volunteering, I had to first learn that one tiny movement from all of us is what creates the big picture that changes scenarios: our union towards peace is what can truly achieve it.” This is a lesson for all of us.
