Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Brazil recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Industry Association of the State of Goias (ADIAL: Associação Pró-Desenvolvimento Industrial do Estado de Goiás). ADIAL is made up of 185 associated industries that believe in the vision that the most efficient public policy in lifting up the less fortunate is economic prosperity. Together, GPF Brazil and ADIAL hope to provide equal opportunities for all people in the country to generate income but also, most importantly, to live a dignified life that will benefit the nation.
ADIAL offers training courses in relation to 1,500 different job categories, from engineering to truck driving, with complete integration into long-term contracts. With the added partnership between GPF Brazil and the Federal University, ongoing programs will aim to help university graduates through ADIAL programs and seamlessly enter the labor market with long-term contracts.
GPF Brazil has been working in cooperation with the municipality of Goiania, churches, grassroots organizations, and others to engage in outreach programs to gauge the interest of citizens in participating in the economic program.
Through the analysis of professionals in the welfare sector, services to citizens, entrepreneurs, and religious leaders, it has been ascertained that welfare policies for the neediest have created a welfare dependency. Federal and state aid has created a “welfare wage” sufficient to maintain a basic standard of living, de-motivating large sections of the population to look for jobs and increase their incomes and quality of life. Because of this, the new economic program focusing on the benefits of jobs to increasing quality of life will be essential to help better the lives of citizens and provide a sustainable future for the country as a whole.
