From December 22 to 24, 2025, Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Nepal, in collaboration with Global Peace Women (GPW) Nepal, organized a transformative three-day workshop on Moral and Innovative Leadership. The event brought together 52 young women students from Padmakanya Multiple Campus for an immersive experience focused on values-based leadership, self-discovery, character building, and innovative thinking.

The workshop started with a focus on the need for moral and innovative leaders in peacebuilding. Participants learned that moral leadership is guided not by position or authority but by an ethical compass rooted in universal principles, values, and aspirations. Emphasis was placed on the integral role of character in leadership, highlighting how inner growth forms the foundation for meaningful outer change. Through interactive sessions on the inside-out conflict resolution approach, participants developed skills in self-awareness, values-based decision-making, and responsible action.

One participant reflected, “Before this workshop, I believed leadership was limited to political roles. Now I understand that anyone can be a leader. True leadership is not about position or authority; it is about good character, a service mindset, and creating meaningful impact.”

The second day focused on effective communication and the Global Peace Values Framework. Participants practiced active listening and collaborative communication through interactive exercises, learning to respond thoughtfully and build trust. They also explored the Global Peace Values Framework, with an emphasis on living for the greater good as the highest and noblest motivation for a leader. Using Ikigai, a Japanese concept meaning “reason for being,” participants reflected on their personal passions, skills, and purpose, connecting these insights to their potential as leaders who live for the greater good.

Sessions on “Dream Big” and “Ownership” inspired participants to envision themselves as impactful leaders. Through self-reflection and interactive activities, they examined how visionary leaders shape change, while also receiving practical tips on time management and overcoming procrastination, essential tools for achieving their goals and taking responsibility for their growth.

On the third day, participants delved into the power of teamwork and the role of innovative leadership in driving positive change. Participants explored group dynamics, learned to collaborate effectively, and contributed to collective goals. During a group exercise, they identified pressing societal challenges in Nepal, such as a lack of civic awareness and unemployment, and analyzed their root causes and effects. Reflecting on how innovative leadership can harness creativity to address these issues, participants brainstormed practical solutions and presented action plans to tackle them.

At the end of the workshop, participants shared that they were inspired to apply the Global Peace Values Framework: Living for the Greater Good, Dream Big, Ownership, and Teamwork, in their daily lives. They expressed commitment to taking small, consistent steps toward becoming moral and innovative leaders, contributing meaningfully to peace and nation-building, recognizing that meaningful change begins with each of us.

One participant summarized the workshop’s impact: “I am inspired and committed to applying the Global Peace Values Framework in my daily life. I plan to embrace the courage to stand up for my goals, strive to grow as a moral and innovative leader, and contribute to building peace in my community, nation, and the world. I also aim to take full accountability for my actions and encourage others to do the same.”

The workshop was supported by the Social Work Department of Padmakanya Multiple Campus, marking a significant step in nurturing service-minded women leaders for a peaceful future. More similar workshops are planned to be organized at the same campus.
