About this event
The Global Peace Leadership Conference will bring together delegates from Africa and around the world to explore and discuss ways to promote peace, development, and cooperation.
The key objectives of the conference include: promoting an African Renaissance that draws on Africa’s unique heritage and the strength of its spirituality and traditional values; empowering African leadership; strengthening intracontinental partnerships, and cultivating ethical global citizenship.
Through engaging plenary sessions, GPLC Africa 2024 seeks to inspire, unite, and empower the people of Africa to shape a prosperous and peaceful future for the continent. The conference will engage policymakers, educators, faith leaders, government officials and other stakeholders to identify and share measures toward sustainable peacebuilding and development efforts, evaluate and advance peace and development frameworks, and develop community- oriented actions. The expected outcomes include increased social cohesion, interfaith harmony, and partnerships, launching of ongoing programs and projects.

Promote African Renaissance:
Drawing on the strengths of unique African heritage, with rich, diverse spirituality and deeply rooted traditional values, an African Renaissance can unlock the enormous potential of Africa and its people, fostering a spirit of cooperation and solidarity to tackle conflict and corruption and build peace together.
Celebrate Africa’s Heritage:
Recognize and celebrate the richness and diversity of Africa’s cultures, traditions, and contributions to the global civilization, fostering a sense of pride and self-worth among Africans.
Empower African Leadership:
Provide a platform for emerging and established African leaders to share experiences, best practices and innovative solutions, enabling them to address pressing challenges and contribute to the continent’s progress.
Strengthen Intercontinental Partnerships:
Facilitate dialogue and collaboration among delegates from Africa and other regions, promoting cross-cultural understanding, knowledge exchange, and the forging of strategic partnerships.
Cultivate Global Citizenship:
Inspire participants to embrace a sense of global citizenship, recognizing their shared responsibilities and interconnectedness as members of the global community, while upholding Africa’s unique contributions and perspectives.

- GPLC Africa 2024 delegates will gather at various designated points to plant trees.
- This contributes to President Ruto’s National Tree Planting Campaign, which aims to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
- Simultaneously, Kenyans will be encouraged to plant a tree wherever they are to contribute to the national goal.
