The International Forum on One Korea 2026 brought together leaders, policymakers, experts, civil society representatives, and international partners in Seoul to build consensus for a free and unified Korea.

The forum opened with remarks and special addresses that framed Korean unification as a defining challenge for this generation, one connected to security, human rights, civic leadership, and Korea’s founding ideal of Hongik Ingan. The opening plenary also featured a keynote address by Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, chairman of the Global Peace Foundation, who called on Koreans to take ownership of the Korean Dream and prepare for a future beyond division.

Session 2 moved the conversation from vision to strategy, with presentations on transforming ROK–U.S. security and diplomacy, addressing the risks of the two-state theory, and strengthening information access for the people of North Korea. Speakers emphasized the need for practical policy, public consensus, and civil society action to advance the goal of a free and unified Korean Peninsula.

The forum concluded with a roundtable on ROK–U.S.–Japan trilateral cooperation for a free and unified Korea, highlighting the regional and international significance of Korean unification. Across all three sessions, participants reflected on the urgent need to move beyond managing division and work together toward a future that can advance peace, freedom, and shared prosperity not only on the Korean Peninsula, but across Northeast Asia and the wider international community.
