In a demonstration of unity, the African Union (AU) and the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on October 30, 2025, at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa. As reported by Ajong Mbapndah L in his “Pan African Visions” article, African Union and Global Peace Foundation Seal Pact to Advance Peace and Development, “The agreement cements a collaborative framework to advance the AU’s transformative vision, Agenda 2063: “The Africa We Want,” through a values-driven approach rooted in the philosophy of “One Family Under God.”

Recognizing that political agreements are only one part of the solution, both organizations share a vision of a renewed Africa built on a moral foundation of our common humanity, where Africans are at the center of its achievement. Mr. Mbapndah L reported on this foundation, “Reflecting the African philosophy of Ubuntu — ‘I am because we are’ — the partnership places moral and spiritual transformation at the heart of Africa’s renewal. “

Collaboration is a crucial element to achieving a peaceful and prosperous Africa. Father Canice Chinyeaka Enyiaka, GPF’s Director of African Peace Initiative and Engagement, represented GPF at the signing, where he underscored the significance of the MOU between the two organizations and its approach to collaborative peacebuilding.
