An international delegation joined African leaders, educators, and other peacebuilding stakeholders for the Global Peace Leadership Conference Africa 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, from June 25 to 27.
The GPLC Plenary included a keynote address from Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, founder and chairman of Global Peace Foundation.
Rev. Dr. Canice Enyiaka, International Program Specialist; Regional Representative for Africa, emceed the ceremonies, introducing the featured speakers including:
• John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Emeritus, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja (Nigeria)
• H.E. Olusegun Obasanjo, Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999-2007)
• Dr. Manu Chandaria, Chairman, Chandaria Foundation — recipient of the Legacy of Peace Award
Special remarks were given by:
• Mr. James P. Flynn, International President, Global Peace Foundation
• Rt. Rev. Willybard Kitogho Lagho, Chairman, Interreligious Council of Kenya
• Ms. Yasmine Jemal, Founder and President, Know My Generation (Ethiopia)

Dr. Abdirahman Ismail, executive director of the Interreligious Council of Kenya, read a declaration on the Vision for an African Renaissance. The GPLC plenary also included musical selections by the Redorth Chorus.
