Action for Korea United and the Headquarters of National Unification of Young Korean Academy co-hosted the “70th anniversary of Korea’s independence and division: The New Era Unification Song Global Chorus” on October 15th in Pari Park, Mokdong, Seoul.
This event was run by the organizing committee of the New Era Unification Song Campaign and sponsored by Ministry of Unification, Presidential Committee for Unification Preparation, and the Committee for the 70th Anniversary of Korean Liberation.
The program consisted of a performance by the Chorus from Action for Korea United (AKU) and the Headquarters of National Unification of Young Korean Academy, a declaration for the reunification of North and South Korea, and a performance of “One Dream One Korea.”
The performance of “One Dream One Korea” especially united the hearts of all that were there as they waved their towels, hoping for reunification to become a reality.
Representative Seo Intaek from AKU commented, “This year is a special year because it is the 70th anniversary of our liberation and division. It is a time where our people can become one, reunification can be realized, and true liberation can come.” “If all Koreans can dream of reunification, then it can become a reality in the near future.”
He also announced, “This year on October 9, at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, we will host the ‘One K Concert’ with the theme of ‘One Dream One Korea. … And through this event, if people can become one, then reunification can be achieved very soon.”
Among the 400 participants from reunification-related civic organizations included Co-chairman Gapsan Lee, Representative Jungryul Ryu from the Headquarters of National Unification of Young Korean Academy, Co-representative Yongsun Lee from Korean Sharing Movement.
From the 14th through the 15th, the New Era Unification Song Global Chorus was held in Hanok Village in Jungjoo, Paldalmun in Soowon, Manlipo Beach in Tae-ahn, Masan Station, Moongyung city hall, Jaseongdae Park in eastern Busan. This chorus has also performed in Washington, DC, Tokyo and China.
