Urban Peacebuilding Initiative

May 3, 2018

Global Peace Foundation hopes to replicate the model in different States and different countries that seek to build trust and develop open lines of communication. This current effort builds on the work of GPF.

It is essential to educate communities about extreme violence, how it hurts innocent victims and what we can do to protect our communities. The most effective way is to create well-informed and well-equipped families, communities, businesses, and local institutions so that they are our best defense against extreme violence.

This training is funded by the United States Department of Homeland Security and is a part of a comprehensive approach which includes community engagement and an in-depth look at the role of social media and radicalization. We have worked closely with New Jersey law enforcement including the Attorney General’s Office and New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness in developing our approach.
