Uniting Minds for a Sustainable Future: BioEnviroCon 2025 at IIT Delhi

The national-level conference BioEnviroCon 2025 was hosted at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, in the Research & Innovation Park. It brought together experts, young researchers, and global thought leaders in environmental science and sustainability. The conference was jointly organized by Dharti International Foundation, RCE Private Limited, and Global Peace Foundation (GPF) India alongside other institutions committed to ecological and scientific advancement.

The event welcomed the chairman of GPF India, Dr. Markandey Rai, who set a powerful tone for the two-day conference. Participants included undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., and post-doctoral scholars, as well as early-career scientists, policy experts, and industry professionals from across India and abroad. Notable institutional participation came from SGPGIMS, CSIR India, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), Central Universities, and international collaborators from Mississippi State University.

A major highlight of the event was the launch of the book “Decontamination of Subsurface Water Resources System using Contemporary Technologies,” published by Elsevier. The book is co-edited by esteemed scientists — Dr. Pankaj K. Gupta, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Bhupender Singh, and Dr. Swati Verma — and reflects pioneering approaches in water decontamination technologies.

The conference featured a vibrant mix of oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, and youth-led research showcases, fostering meaningful dialogue on environmental challenges and solutions. Awards were presented in categories such as Best Poster, Best Practice, and Best 3-Minute Research Pitch, celebrating innovative thinking and scientific rigor.

During his address, Dr. Gupta emphasized the critical need for credible knowledge and sustainable environmental practices. He also highlighted the role of NGOs in rural development and the necessity of specialized training in India’s water sector.

Notable attendees included Dr. Suresh Verma, IPS, Shri Atul Mohan, Lt. Dr. Gajendra Pratap Singh, and many other distinguished scientists and scholars. A key moment was the recognition of the first awardee of the School Scholar Program, underscoring the event’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in science and sustainability. Arpan Dipti Akhilesh Patidar, a Class 10 student from Paramount Academy, Kasrawad, a village in central India—Madhya Pradesh—was honored with the DIF Green Future Leader 2025 award for his contributions to water conservation.

BioEnviroCon 2025 proved to be a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, marking a significant step forward in India’s journey towards environmental resilience.
