Siddharth Chatterjee leads the UN Country Team to deliver on the UN Development Assistance Framework in China. Sid served previously as the UNFPA Representative for Kenya, where he spearheaded team efforts to reduce maternal deaths with the spotlight on the challenges faced by adolescent girls, child marriage, FGM & GBV. He has served the UN in various countries including Iraq, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan (Darfur), Indonesia and in the peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sid writes on humanitarian and development issues in journals such as the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, Reuters and various Kenyan and Indian journals. He served in India’s Special Forces Unit, where he was decorated in 1995 for bravery by the President. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy at Princeton University, USA and a BSc from the National Defense Academy in India.
