H.E. Luis Alberto Castiglioni Soria is a seasoned Paraguayan politician and engineer with a career spanning over 30 years. He served as Vice President of Paraguay from 2003 to 2007 during the administration of President Nicanor Duarte Frutos. A prominent leader within the Colorado Party, he has also held positions as Minister of Foreign Affairs (2018–2019) and Minister of Industry and Commerce (2020–2023), where he promoted trade, industrial development, and foreign investment. Castiglioni served in the Chamber of Deputies and later in the Senate, playing a central role in national legislative reform. He was also a key member of the 1992 National Constituent Assembly, which drafted Paraguay’s democratic constitution. Recognized for his commitment to democratic principles, economic modernization, and international engagement, he has represented Paraguay in multiple global forums and diplomatic missions.
