Emelita Apostol-Alvarez is the Vice President of Rotary Philippines (Makati EDSA) and the Chairperson and President of the Congressional Spouses Foundation that initiated the livelihood project with the inmates of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and their family members known as “Inmatepreneur”. She is also a former President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Makati. Apostol-Alvarez had vital role in the implementation of Republic Act 9003 in the whole province of Davao Del Norte and part of the success of the Municipality of Sto. Tomas to become “A Zero Waste and outstanding municipality in the whole Mindanao area.
