Dr. Slamet Yusuf Effendi is Chairman of Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia’s largest Muslim organization with nearly 50 million members. He is also Chairman of MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia), the Indonesia Council of Ulema. Has been a Congressman for 4 terms in Indonesia and is active in promoting social welfare in his native country.
