Dr. Sheik Ebraheem Ssali is a scholar in Arabic language studies with over 20 years of experience as a lecturer and coordinator of Arabic Language at Makerere University, where he has supervised postgraduate and undergraduate students in translation and interpretation. He holds a PhD in Arabic Language Studies and has extensive experience as a translator and interpreter for high level conferences, including presidential meetings, African Union, United Nations, COMESA, and Afro Arab Youth Council engagements, as well as Ugandan presidential delegations and special envoy missions to Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, and other North African states. His expertise includes regional security dialogues, law enforcement ministerial meetings, and humanitarian law training sessions. He has contributed to strengthening Uganda Arab relations by serving as an interpreter in multiple presidential meetings with Arab delegations, supporting regional integration through Afro Arab Youth Council initiatives and African Union COMESA programs, and contributing to capacity building through the design of academic programs in Arabic language and translation studies, strengthening Uganda’s human capital in diplomacy.
