Dr. Choong-Koo Lee is a research fellow at the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses. His work focuses on South Korea’s foreign policy, North Korea’s nuclear issue, U.S.-China relations, and the security and defence implications of emerging technologies. He holds a BA, MA, and Ph.D. in international relations from Seoul National University. Dr. Lee previously served as a visiting fellow at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and at Renmin University of China in Beijing. His doctoral dissertation examined the evolution of North Korea’s nuclear policy from the early 1980s through its official discourses. He has published extensively in academic and policy journals, including The Pacific Review, The Korean Journal of Defense Analyses, The Korean Journal of International Studies, Korean Political Science Review, International Journal of Korean Unification Studies, and War on the Rocks, as well as in edited volumes.
