The One Korea Campaign is an ongoing movement to expand Korean-led initiatives and international support to peacefully reunite the Korean peninsula. Global Peace Foundation actively spreads the message of One Korea to people across the world because a united Korea based on peace will contribute to global peace and prosperity.
From October 30 to November 1, 2019, the Global Foundation (GPF) Tanzania volunteers introduced students to the One Korea Campaign at a booth at the University of Dar Es Salaam exhibition. At the beginning of each academic year, the University of Dar Es Salaam holds exhibitions to teach students about different associations and organizations.
The team at the exhibition consisted of GPF Tanzania project manager Irene Ishengoma, assistance project manager Benson Daudi, Campaign Coordinator for Tanzanians for One Korea Sylvia Mkomwa, and interns Khadija Saidi and Lameck Ngero. The team met with over a hundred students and shared their passion for peaceful Korean reunification.
The team explained the history of the Korean peninsula and how the country became divided. The message behind the One Korea Campaign inspired students and taught them the importance of spreading peace beyond just themselves, to create peace in their homes and to spread the message of peace out to the world.
