The Global Youth Summit 2024 toured 17 cities in the Philippines.

The following is an excerpt from the Manila Standard on the Global Peace Youth Summit hosted by the Global Peace Foundation.


The 12th Global Youth Summit (GYS) 2024 wrapped up its nationwide tour at the Mall of Asia Arena, gathering over 24,000 young participants focused on sustainability.

The event, organized by SM Cares and the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), aimed to equip youth leaders with tools to address global challenges in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The summit covered 17 provinces across the Philippines, culminating in the final event in Manila. Key speakers included actress and philanthropist Heart Evangelista, GPF Asia Pacific Regional President Ingill Ra, AirAsia Philippines spokesperson Steve Dailisan, and content creators Abi Marquez and Lyqa Maravilla, who shared messages encouraging youth involvement in social change.

The event also featured performances by P-pop group HORI7ON, artist Maki, and the National University Dance Company.

As part of the summit’s efforts to foster innovation, five young leaders were awarded seed grants totaling P250,000 to support their sustainability projects.

The Global Youth Summit continues to promote youth empowerment, particularly in addressing sustainability and global issues.
