In April 2025, the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines deepened its commitment to values-based, sustainable development by implementing a series of transformative community development initiatives across Aurora, Tarlac, Zambales, and Manila. Through its flagship All-Lights Village (ALV) Program, GPF is working alongside government agencies, local government units (LGUs), educational institutions, and international volunteers to bring light, both literally and figuratively, to off-grid and underserved communities.
The month began with the ceremonial handover of solar generator sets to Sincab Elementary School in Sofronio Española. This milestone was achieved through the support of DepEd MIMAROPA and the Municipal Government, empowering the school to fully utilize previously donated multimedia tools that had remained unused due to the absence of reliable electricity. With clean and sustainable energy now available, teachers and students are able to enrich their learning experience, embracing digital tools and multimedia instruction. During the handover, GPF Philippines Executive Director Leonard T. Faustino emphasized the importance of providing equitable access to education and reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to empowering marginalized communities through practical interventions.
“With reliable power, students in Sincab can now access better educational resources and opportunities,” he said.

Simultaneously, GPF Philippines was forging vital partnerships with local governments to ensure long-term impact. In Mayantoc, Tarlac, the Foundation engaged the local government in dialogue that led to the grand launching of the 48th All-Lights Village in Sitio Kamanggaan. The event brought together over 100 families, many of them 4Ps beneficiaries living without electricity, and introduced them to strategies for improving their quality of life. Through the collaborative efforts of GPF, BLESS Microfinance Corporation, and the LGU of Mayantoc, solar streetlights and lamps were distributed, marking the beginning of a partnership rooted in shared responsibility, sustainable livelihoods, and values education.
Another remarkable initiative unfolded in Aurora where, from April 8 to 11, international volunteers from the Love in Lights program joined local youth leaders from Dingalan National High School in a cross-cultural effort to support Singawan Elementary School. With the support of the LGU and DepEd Region III, the volunteers conducted hygiene awareness sessions, creative workshops, mural painting, and installed solar lanterns and streetlights around the school. The project not only improved safety and access to education but also promoted international solidarity and youth leadership as essential components of development work.
In Zambales, the Foundation expanded its presence through a partnership meeting with the LGU of San Marcelino. GPF introduced its ALV Program to local leaders and began the groundwork to serve 100 off-grid 4Ps families in Barangay Santa Fe, one of the municipality’s most isolated areas. Vice Mayor Christopher Gorgona welcomed the initiative and pledged resources, including solar lamp posts and physical infrastructure, to support the program’s implementation. This visit reinforced GPF’s commitment to people-centered planning, beginning with community validation and genuine dialogue with residents.
Throughout these endeavors, the principles of interfaith leadership, family strengthening, and service remained at the heart of GPF’s work. Integrating these values into every project activity ensured that development was not just about infrastructure but about nurturing responsible and empowered citizens. GPF also continued to implement its GlobALS program, which provides flexible learning pathways for out-of-school youth and adults, reinforcing education as a key driver of social transformation.
As April came to a close, GPF Philippines celebrated not just the tangible outputs, such as solar lights installed, schools empowered, and partnerships formed, but also the growing sense of unity and ownership within the communities it serves. Looking ahead to May, the Foundation is set to expand its impact through further partnerships, coordination meetings, and educational projects, including a collaboration with Project Hello World and exploration of new off-grid communities in San Jose, Tarlac, and Olongapo City. With every village it lights and every life it touches, GPF Philippines moves closer to its vision of building One Family under God through peace, service, and sustainable development.
