Tension continues to grow on the Korean peninsula but it is not stopping an international powerhouse of musical talent from sharing the dream for peaceful reunification through song.
With lyrics by Grammy Award-winning duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, “Korean Dream” was performed for the first time in Manila following the conclusion of the 2017 Global Peace Convention in the Philippines and is now available to stream and download.
Artists like Peabo Bryson, Australian X Factor winner Dami Im, and Jung Dong-ha, a singer for rock band Boohwal expressed their gratitude for being a part of the campaign.
“I see it as an opportunity to discard prejudices that come with being a South Korean, or a North Korean,” said Jung. “They are all the same people, but when seen from a far distance, [North Koreans] may look strange to [South Koreans]. We must first do away with our prejudice.”
