International Forum USA has formally entered into a partnership with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), marking an important step toward strengthening collaborative peacebuilding efforts among diverse communities in the United States. The partnership was announced during a cordial meeting hosted at the GPF offices in Washington, DC, where leaders from both organizations gathered to discuss shared values, strategic priorities, and opportunities for joint action. The engagement reflected a strong spirit of dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to advancing peace through cooperation and community-centered approaches.
The meeting was led by James P. Flynn, president of the Global Peace Foundation, who welcomed the delegation and outlined GPF’s mission and global work in peacebuilding, interfaith cooperation, education, and community resilience. Raj Rathor, chairman of International Forum USA, emphasized the organization’s commitment to fostering harmony and understanding across cultural and faith lines, particularly within immigrant and diaspora communities. Leaders from both organizations discussed a common minimum program aimed at promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaborative action across communities, with plans for continued engagement in the coming year.
This partnership is particularly significant for GPF’s work in building cohesive communities and strengthening local peace infrastructures. By collaborating with International Forum USA, GPF is well-positioned to expand its community-based peacebuilding initiatives that bring together faith leaders, civic actors, educators, and community members. The partnership aligns closely with GPF’s approach of addressing the root causes of division through values-based leadership, interfaith cooperation, and practical community engagement that fosters trust, dignity, and shared responsibility.
Additionally, the collaboration supports GPF’s focus on education, leadership development, and collaborative problem-solving as essential tools for sustainable peace. Plans discussed include the launch of a joint program in collaboration with a police academy at the University of Maryland, focusing on community engagement, education, and peacebuilding practices. Such initiatives reflect GPF’s commitment to bridging divides between institutions and communities, equipping leaders with the skills and values needed to address social challenges constructively and in an all-encompassing manner.
Several distinguished leaders were present at the meeting, including Alan J. Inman, a senior advisor for GPF, and Sabrang TV representative Harjit Singh Hundal, and other community leaders who contributed to the discussions. The partnership is expected to play a meaningful role in advancing peace, inter-community understanding, and collaborative action, with both organizations expressing optimism about the impact of their shared efforts in the times ahead.
