The team was comprised of Mr. Eric Nyamwaro from the Young Scientists Kenya, Dr. Tom Mboya from the Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa, and Mr. Alex Magu from Playpoint EA. The group took part in an Invention Education convening held in Washington DC and would later take part in a STEM funders Ecosystem meeting in California. They also visited a high-tech STEM high school in San Marcos where the team of administrators arranged future collaboration to promote STEM and invention education in Kenyan Schools.

The education team would go on to attend an ESports tournament organized by the North American Scholastic Esports Federation at the Esports Arena in Orange County and witnessed how gaming is being utilized in the U.S. to develop skills in students.

GPF Kenya has been on the forefront in developing stakeholder collaboration in transforming education to make it relevant to the expectations of the 21st century. The most recent education initiative is the Great Places to School initiative which brings together the Standard Media Group, the Kenya Private Sector Association, TIFA Research and Global Peace Foundation Kenya to rate schools that provide quality learning in Kenya.

While in the United States, Mr. Omondi and the Kenyan delegation held talks with the Kenyan Ambassador to the U.S. H.E. Robinson Githae and other government and corporate officials.

The tour across national boundaries demonstrates the importance of education that addresses both academic success and character and creativity to all students around the world.
