Family Development Content Writer

Summary:

The Family Development Content Writer (Family) reports to the VP of Education, based in Seattle, WA, and can work remotely or in our Lanham, MD, or Seattle, WA offices. This role is dedicated to promoting the values and practices that strengthen marriages and families, emphasizing the family as the cornerstone of society. The focus is creating compelling content that inspires strong, multigenerational family connections and fosters resilient, loving relationships.

The Family Development Content Writer’s primary goal is to develop content that demonstrates the importance and priority of the family and highlights how intimate familial relationships contribute to a life of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment. This involves the critical role parents play in building and nurturing strong families, serving as the primary role models for their children, and exemplifying healthy relationships, strong moral character, and positive ethical values. Shared universal values like respect, trust, commitment, communication, gratitude, empathy, investment, love, and forgiveness provide the moral and ethical framework that supports and strengthens enduring marriages and families.

The ideal candidate will understand that personal development is naturally embedded in family development. They will create content that not only focuses on individual growth but also emphasizes the impact of this growth on the family and marital relationships as a whole. This includes illustrating how lifelong character, holistic growth (spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical), high standards, strong relationships within the family unit, and marriages can serve as a foundation for broader community transformation. The content will also provide practical, proven strategies for parents to effectively lead their families through moral leadership and nurturing orderly, respectful, and meaningful relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Writing and Content Development (50%)

  • Collaborate with leadership and creative teams to develop and implement impactful content that promotes personal growth and strengthens families, including multigenerational and extended family relationships.
  • Design materials, such as workshops, webinars, and presentations that empower families to build stronger relationships and foster holistic development
  • Translate complex ideas into engaging, actionable tools ensuring accessibility and measurable impact for families
  • Develop content illustrating how personal and family development impacts communities and broader society.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the brand’s voice and values, working closely with a geographically dispersed core team.

Content Application, Collaboration, and Research (50%)

  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure the relevance and practical application of family-focused content.
  • Research character, creativity, values, skills, and well-being to produce compelling content.
  • Collaborate with team members across domestic and international locations to refine creative approaches.
  • Evaluate societal trends and integrate relevant social science research to maintain impactful, up-to-date content.

 

Qualifications

Core Requirements (50%)

  • A passion for personal and family growth rooted in universal principles and shared values, with a commitment to fostering strong, resilient families.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and content creation skills with a proven ability to deliver compelling materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and collaborators.

Professional Experience (30%)

  • Experience in coaching, training, or leadership roles, with demonstrated success in managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven experience in personal and family development, preferably in a leadership capacity.

Educational Background (20%)

  • A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Family Studies, or a related field is advantageous; substantial equivalent experience will also be strongly considered.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in coaching, training, or leadership are a plus.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS 365, Google Workplace, modern AI tools, ChatGPT, Zoom, Teamwork, Salesforce, and other similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and keyword research.

Location

  • This role offers hybrid or fully remote work options within the U.S., with occasional travel to Lanham, MD, and Seattle, WA for key events and meetings.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, with flexibility for occasional extended hours.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel domestically for key meetings and events.
