Global Peace Foundation India hosts a Drawing and Clay Art Competition.
The power of art to engage children, foster creativity, and encourage teamwork was front and center on October 16, 2025, when the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) India hosted a Drawing and Clay Art Competition for students in classes 9 to 12. The event, held at Nav Vikas Inter College in Uttar Pradesh, India, provided an opportunity for 35 students to enhance their artistic skills while connecting with Indian culture, heritage, and moral values.
In addition to promoting artistic creativity, students developed an appreciation for the value of teamwork as they collaborated in groups to create meaningful artwork. With a theme of “Diwali and Indian Culture,” the students produced idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi, traditional diyas, animals, and other cultural decorative items. According to Priya, a 10th-class student, “Participating in the Drawing and Clay Art Competition was an amazing experience. I enjoyed creating idols and diyas using clay and learned how to express Indian culture creatively. It also helped me work better with my friends and boosted my confidence.”

The judges applauded the students for their artwork, which demonstrated both creativity and dedication. They also acknowledged the importance of engaging students in activities such as the Drawing and Clay Art Competition to enhance their mental and social development. Teacher Santosh Kuram commented that “GPF India’s initiative provided a wonderful platform for students to explore their artistic skills. The competition encouraged teamwork, creativity, and cultural understanding. Such activities are essential for the overall development of young learners.”
The competition was successful in multiple ways. It improved the students’ fine motor and artistic skills, increased their confidence and cultural awareness, and created a positive learning environment. Sangeeta Kumari, principal of Nav Vikash Inter College, expressed her appreciation for GPF India, stating, “We sincerely appreciate GPF India for organizing this meaningful and educational program. The event inspired students to connect with Indian traditions while nurturing their creativity, confidence, and collaborative skills.”
As our future moral and innovative leaders, it’s imperative that children are provided with opportunities to develop their skills, become culturally aware, gain confidence in their abilities, and learn how to work productively in a team environment. The Drawing and Art Clay Competition is an example of GPF India’s investment in young people. It recognizes the need to nurture their potential and engage them in activities that reinforce their intrinsic dignity and value, while fostering their creativity and holistic development.
