James P. Flynn serves as International President of the Global Peace Foundation (GPF), where he has led global programs, partnerships, and operations since 2013. Based in the Washington, D.C., area, he oversees the strategic direction and projects of more than twenty GPF field affiliates and global initiatives, advancing values-based peacebuilding, leadership development, and community-driven efforts worldwide.
With more than four decades of experience across the nonprofit, civic, and policy sectors, Mr. Flynn works at the intersection of ethical governance, social cohesion, and cross-sector collaboration. During his leadership tenure, GPF has expanded its global impact through peacebuilding initiatives across Africa, ethical and civic leadership programs in Latin America, youth leadership and character development efforts throughout Asia, and international engagement supporting a free and unified Korean Peninsula.
These initiatives engage a broad range of governmental, civil society, and international partners, including ongoing collaboration with national ministries and multinational organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme and the African Union.
Mr. Flynn is recognized for bridging sectors and cultures, aligning diverse stakeholders, and translating vision into actionable strategies. His leadership emphasizes responsibility, cooperation, and shared purpose as essential foundations for effective civil society and durable peace.
