Mr. David Caprara serves as Strategic Advisor and former International Vice President with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF). His voluntary support includes mentorship and partnership development with the Global Peace Leadership Corps, with a focus on environmental peacebuilding. He also serves as the Nepal Country Representative for Sister Cities International and co-founded the Fredericksburg-Kathmandu sister city with his wife, Collette, and other civic leaders following the 2015 earthquake.
David previously served for 12 years as a Nonresident Fellow with the Brookings Institution, assessing and promoting international volunteering and service. He also served as a Senior Executive in two U.S. administrations, including as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Director of VISTA Volunteers at the Corporation for National and Community Service, overseeing 6,000 volunteers across the country.
He advanced multi-stakeholder support for the launch of the Global Peace and Development Service Alliance in Africa and Asia, further supporting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
