Being an educator is more than a job; it is a mission.

Education is not just about intellect but also about developing the whole person—their character, skills, and ability to succeed in the time we live in. At Global Peace Foundation, we have the opportunity to work with educators and ministries of education to Transform Education. Together, we are raising school divisions, administrators, and educators who are able to inspire other educators and students to contribute to all aspects of their communities.

This year, we have reached a pivotal point in our Transforming Education work. Building on thirteen years of foundational work in the field, in the year 2023, we launched a national model for transforming education in the Philippines. Top superintendents and members of the education leadership team in Region 3 were selected by the Ministry of Education to participate in several intensive multi-day workshops to discuss transformative education models, new technology, and innovative approaches to providing holistic development to educators and students in the Philippines.

This groundbreaking system implemented by the Global Peace Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Education of the Philippines is shifting the conversation from the conventional industrial education model towards its values-driven origins. There is an urgent need, especially in the Global South, where most of the world’s youth resides, for holistic education that focuses on character development, relationships, skills, and knowledge application.

These top leaders are returning the knowledge they gained to their local areas, where it will cascade down to teachers, students, and families in their communities. Starting with transforming administrators and educators, we are helping future generations of leaders cultivate peaceful societies. This exciting model is already taking hold in the Philippines, and we have planted the seeds for this groundbreaking model to develop in Kenya and Uganda.
