World Science Day for Peace and Development Celebrated in Kenya

Global Peace Foundation Kenya’s Education division partnered with the Center for Mathematics Science and Technology in Africa (CEMASTEA), the Embassy of Ireland, the Ministry of Education and other partners to celebrate World Science Day through environmental projects and an interactive workshop with youth on November 10, 2017.

“Peace is not absence of war… We need to use science to live in a world of fulfillment. There is a connection between science and peace.” Director of GPF Kenya, Mr. Daniel Juma spoke to the importance of fostering character and creativity within the fields of math and science in schools across the nation.

GPF Leap Hubs launched in Kenya in 2015 to provide spaces in high schools for students to explore their innovative ideas while gaining valuable skills in leadership, problem-solving, product development and finance.
